The government have updated guidance for parents in regards to the outbreak entitled:

The Roundhouse is a friendly, homely environment which prioritises the health and wellbeing of the children in our care.
Initially established in 1999 we have recently re-registered with Ofsted following a change of address and legal status. Prior to this re-registration the nursery was rated as "Outstanding" by Ofsted.

Newly Refurbished

The nursery is now based upstairs in the H Suite, on Icknield Port Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The premises has benefitted from a total refurbishment, which has provided us with a clean and fresh environment for the children.

We have a team of committed and professional staff, who have been chosen for their caring natures, as much as for their breadth of qualifications and experience in the sector.

Quality Improvement

The nursery has an ongoing development and improvement programme in order to both maintain and raise quality at the setting. This includes self assessment, strong parent partnerships and close liaison with outside agencies such as the Early Years Development Team. We have also taken part in improvement programmes such as Effective Early Learning and Baby Effective Early Learning Programmes and Startwell.

Children are provided with a wide range of carefully planned play / learning activities, which in turn cater for each individual child's needs. They are all given the opportunity to progress at their own rate. Staff, have high expectations of the children and encourage them to achieve. They observe and assess all of the children in their care and complete detailed development files, which are shared with parents on a regular basis. Activities are carefully constructed and are based around the children’s natural interests to support their learning and development.

All nursery activities are based around the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage 2017) areas of learning and development – these include:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

About Us

... Rated as 'Outstanding' in our last OFSTED report. Prior to re-registration in January 2018

NK Parent from 2017 - 2020.

My daughter attended Roundhouse for 3 years, being the second nursery she has attended and the staff were extremely welcoming making my daughter feel safe from the minute she met them and settled right in. She is a very (very) lively child, yet has never been bored during her time here and has absolutely loved every minute of it. The place is always clean, the children eat a variety of different meals and big portion sizes which is a big plus for me as I never have to worry that she's not getting enough food at nursery. The staff are extremely caring and greeted us every morning with a smile, ready for the day ahead. Management at this nursery are amazing, they get stuck in with the children just as much as the rest of the staff, they take feedback on board, always listening and accommodating to your child's needs. My daughter needed additional support for her speech and the staff were amazing with this, taking on board advice given by the speech therapist by providing 1:1 sessions- replicating activities done at home which has sped up her progress immensely, resulting in her now being discharged from speech therapy and ready for school! I can honestly say the staff at roundhouse are doing an amazing job and have been incredible during Covid-19, showing care and compassion with regular check ins and emailing parents activities ideas for them to do at home. I highly recommend this nursery, they are doing a fantastic job!'

My children have been attending the Roundhouse nursery for the last 4 years and I have recieved an examplary service. The nursery itself is a clean healthy environment, the staff are very caring to both children and parents and both of my children have thrived during their time at the nursery, I recommend this setting to anyone looking for a highly skilled team of experts to care for their children, the team absolutely deserve the outstanding Ofsted report they recently recieved.
